Red Rose Design Lesson 1

I chose a tube to start and made a tag which you can see above as my header.
I chose two complementary colours from the tag in order to make the background tiles and gradient.
I then created a colour swatch to work from, using the colours I chose.

Using Paintshop Pro X I made three background tiles. A plain one, a patterned one and a gradient.
I made these at 100 x 100 pixels. The tiles that I made are shown below.
The plain tile is one colour #e8da99,
The gradient was made using both of the colours I chose,
The patterned tile was made using the dark colour, then I added a texture to the tile,
made it seamless, adjusted the brightness/contrast and then enhanced the edges.
