I have used PSP X2, but this can be done in any version.

You will need the plugin AV Bros.
AV Bros is a paid plugin which you can get HERE

This is my way of making rolls like the above picture.

Open the paper you want to roll, copy it and paste it onto a canvas double it's dimensions
(i.e.. If your paper is 500 x 500 pixels, open a new transparent canvas 1000 x 1000)
Open AV Bros 2.2 and reset to default. This means the only settings you need to change are the ones in my preview below.
